What are y'all using to paint your bare steel? Powder coat is an option, but I'm leaning towards the "bedliner" stuff from Rustoleum as it is faster and less expensive and I can touch it up if I bump the window at Starbucks! Thoughts?

I use the Duplicolor bed liner spray on all my stuff. Works well and easy touch up. Never tried the Rustoleum.
One thing I've also noticed is the bed liner sticks better to bare metal than primed metal.

That's two good votes! Any reason why it works better without the primer?

I used duplicolor on the inside of my fender wells of last jeep and it did good in the short term.

That's two good votes! Any reason why it works better without the primer? I have no idea. I used primer on my bumper the first time and just didn't stick as well. I thought maybe I screwed up, so I tried on some other parts, and the ones without primer held better.

Just light scuff, clean, and spray. It does take a while to properly dry and cure though

If you use primer, it needs to be self etching or it will not stick to bare metal.

Went with Rustoleum bed liner, no primer. So far so good.
